DEXIS OP 3D® CBCT Imaging
Dentists now utilize advanced 3D imaging, such as the DEXIS OP 3D® CBCT scan, similar to how physicians use CAT scans. This technology offers significant advantages over traditional X-rays by clearly viewing bone structure, nerves, and tissues in 3D. CBCT scans are quick (under 30 seconds) and use less radiation than conventional bitewing X-rays. They are primarily used for precise planning of dental implants and oral surgery, allowing dentists to assess jawbone quality, locate nerves, and determine optimal implant placement, ultimately enhancing treatment results and reducing surgery time.
Intraoral Camaras
The intraoral camera is a pen-sized diagnostic tool that revolutionizes routine dental appointments. It creates a magnified, full-color video of the patient's inner mouth, displayed instantly on a screen. This technology is invaluable for: Patient Education, Early Diagnosis, Treatment Planning, Reducing Uncertainty The camera is safe, comfortable, uses zero radiation, and significantly enhances communication between the dentist and patient.
Digital X-Rays
Digital radiography is the latest technology for dental X-rays, replacing film with an electronic sensor. This process instantly captures and stores images on a computer for immediate viewing and enlargement, helping dentists easily detect issues. The core benefit is safety, as it reduces radiation exposure by 80–90% compared to traditional X-rays. This technology is diagnostic, essential for revealing hidden problems such as decay between teeth, bone loss, abscesses, and tumors that are not visible during a standard exam. Furthermore, digital X-rays offer speed and comfort and are environmentally friendly by eliminating the need for chemical development. The frequency of X-rays depends on your individual health needs; new patients typically receive a full-mouth series, while bite-wing X-rays are recommended once or twice a year during routine check-ups.
Dental Exams & Cleanings
During your initial and regular check-up exams, your dentist and hygienist perform two crucial services: a detailed examination and a professional cleaning. The dental exam involves several vital steps: reviewing diagnostic X-rays to detect decay, tumors, and bone loss; performing an oral cancer screening of the face, neck, and mouth tissues; evaluating the gums for signs of periodontal disease; and thoroughly checking all tooth surfaces and existing restorations (fillings, crowns) for decay or damage. The professional cleaning (prophylaxis), typically done by a Registered Dental Hygienist, focuses on maintaining health. This process includes the removal of hardened plaque, known as calculus (tartar), which is firmly attached above and below the gum line. They also remove plaque, a sticky film of bacteria that produces toxins leading to gum disease. Finally, teeth polishing is performed to remove remaining stain and plaque, ensuring a clean and healthy smile.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Opalescence® Teeth Whitening
Opalescence® is a safe and proven professional teeth whitening treatment that effectively eliminates organic stains and significantly brightens the smile, typically applied in a quick 45-minute treatment session. This system uniquely combines hydrogen peroxide for whitening with potassium nitrate and fluoride, which work to reduce tooth sensitivity and promote strong enamel, a key advantage over other brands. It can be used with or without light activation at the discretion of your dentist. The in-office procedure, which takes under 90 minutes, begins with a thorough cleaning and color photographs. A resin barrier is applied to protect the gums, and then the 38% hydrogen peroxide gel is applied in multiple 15-minute cycles. After the final application is rinsed, post-treatment photos are taken. Dentists may prescribe lower-concentration take-home gels and toothpaste to maintain the results achieved with this quick and simple treatment.
Bonding
Cosmetic bonding is an affordable and non-invasive procedure used to reshape or repair your smile using composite resin. It is an ideal, single-visit solution for those seeking alternatives to more costly treatments like veneers or orthodontics, as it rarely requires anesthetic. Bonding is commonly used for: closing spaces or gaps, fixing chipped or decayed teeth, lengthening uneven teeth, restoring badly discolored teeth, and protecting roots exposed by receding gums. The process involves the dentist first etching the teeth to create a surface for strong adhesion. A bonding resin is then applied to secure layers of tooth-colored composite. This material is shaped and hardened with a specialized light before being smoothed and polished to blend naturally with the rest of your smile. While durable and long-lasting, the bonding may eventually wear or discolor, requiring replacement over time.
Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are custom-made, thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of teeth to create a uniform, attractive smile. They are ideal for correcting chipped, discolored, misshapen, or crooked teeth. The two-visit process involves lightly shaping the teeth, taking an impression, and then permanently bonding the durable veneers for a beautiful, long-lasting restoration.
